A New Design for a New Age
It has been just a little over four years since my Fro Designs website was launched, and a lot of things have changed since then. For one, I have gained a lot of valuable experience, knowledge, and skills along the way. Not only that, but the web has been introduced to a lot of new technologies that expand the possibilities of website design and development to new limits.
The booming smartphone and tablet market has created new challenges for developers and clients alike. The day of designing websites for a single screen resolution is long gone now. For these reasons, I decided it was time to launch a new website built around the principle of Responsive Design.
What is Responsive Design?
Responsive design is the answer to the question, "How do I get my website to look good and function well on all of the modern devices used these days such as smartphones and tablets?". The solution, as it turns out, is not to create a separate website for mobile devices. The end goal is to have one website, one set of code, that flows and adapts to fit on all of your customers' devices.
Modern technology such as CSS3 media queries make it possible to change how a website appears depending on certain aspects of a web browser or device such as screen size and pixel density. What does this mean for you website owners out there? It means that nobody is left out. Your website will be accessible to the highest amount of potential visitors.
Would you like to see an example of responsive design? Well, you're looking at one right now! My website is fully responsive and adapts to all different screen sizes. Give it a try right now! Simply resize your browser window, or visit this website on any device of your choosing.
